We thank you for choosing to stay with us.
Please read through this document as we have done all we can to answer your questions.
Firstly, we suggest you follow the following link that will explain the details of getting to Falls Creek and to the lodge during winter. Watch the video that explains the process in detail.
https://www.fallscreek.com.au/plan-your-trip-winter/getting-here-winter/
After Covid 19 we made some changes that are outlined below:
We can
• provide you with a comfortable stay,
• ensure your needs are met
• help with any information that you need in these new times at Fall Creek
• provide a positive outlook and smile
We cannot
• have early arrivals or departures and all baggage to be left in your car until check in time.
• storage prior to arrival or after departure as we need to clean after the previous guests and do more than normal. You can leave your bags outside the ski room on the level below the front entrance if really needed.
Please do not enter the building during this time.
So please if you are up early, go for an explore but please do not arrive at the lodge early as we have extra workload that we will have manage to ensure you are safe. Please understand this current requirement.
Check in time is 4pm and check out time is 10am. While we would love to do early check in and late checkouts, we cannot always provide these as we do need to ensure that we get the rooms ready for the next guest and clean after the previous people have left. We cannot store your luggage prior to check in and after checkout but you are welcome to leave them in a safe area near the ski room on the outside of the building.
But please be aware that it can get very full so we do ask that you arrive later in the day so we can properly look after you and quickly remove your gear on departure so that we can have the room as well.
We also suggest travel insurance to ensure coverage for unforeseen situations where you will be covered. This includes and not limited to personal injury, and cancellations out of your control and not covered under our cancellation policy. Examples include natural disasters and airline delays.
Water
Falls Creek is rated in the top 3 dinking waters in Victoria. So, to reduce waste and help the environment we recommend that you do not bring bottled water, instead bring a water bottle and fill with this top-rated drinking water during your stay. We also have filtered from our taps in the restaurant dining area. Why not tap some of this natural resource home with you at the end of the trip. You won’t be disappointed.

No, we supply all the linen in all rooms and apartments and tis includes towels and pillows for each bed.

All twin and double lodge rooms, Queen and Spa suites includes seasonal breakfast in the tariff and is available daily between 7:30am and 9am.

Cooking Facilities
Apartments have a fully functional kitchen in each apartment. There are no cooking facilities for the lodge rooms or queen suite rooms. The Suites rooms have tea and coffee facilities with the lodge rooms having access to the Tea and coffee facilities in the dining area daily. Cooking in rooms is prohibited as these may activate the fire alarms and a call out fee of $1000 could be incurred.
Can I add an extra person to my room?
As the tariff is based on the number of people specified in the booking, hence we need to know if there are extra people staying to cover costs of heating and taxes payable to the resort etc. Also, from a safety point of view we need to know how many people are in house at any time in case of an emergency. Extra people even if they do not take up room need to be accounted for with every room having a maximum capacity.
If extra people are found in the rooms, we do have the right to terminating your stay and involving police in the matter as we need to ensure that we meet legislation and the requirements of our lease with the resort and the bed taxes we pay.
Wi-Fi
We provide free of charge Wi-Fi for our guests. We provide you with all the usernames and passwords on arrival. the internet on the mountain is limited an most likely not suitable speed for many applications.
Laundry
A guest laundry is available for you to use on level 2. Between 5pm and 10pm daily. We do inhouse laundry and generally have this finished by either Monday afternoon or Saturday afternoon. The washing machine is free to use, and powder is in the area, but the dryer is coin operated. 2 x $1 for 30 minutes. For small loads this should be sufficient but larger loads will be 1 hour.
Snow Chains
During the normal winter season (June to Oct), regulations require all vehicles travelling in the snowfields to carry snow chains for their wheels and fit them as directed. These are fitted to the drive wheels; and only when there is snow on the road. The road may be clear without any snow on arrival, but it may snow during your stay. Fines are expensive for not carrying chains and it is also a criminal offence for not following signs on the road. There are plenty of hire places at Mount Beauty, but if arriving late it might be advisable to organize before this point of time.

Visitors 65 and over receive 20% discount on all Resort Entry Permits (including Day, Night and Season Permits) with no restrictions on the ages of other passengers in the vehicle. proof of age and ownership of the vehicle must be provided for issue of the Permit.

Weather and Snow Conditions
In the Alpine Areas, the weather can change very quickly. It can snow during any month of the year depending on weather patterns. Or we can lose the snow quickly especially in springtime and if it rains. Our position high in the Victorian Alps ensures that Falls Creek receives abundant natural snow, but when Mother Nature doesn’t come to the party, we simply make our own.
